Courier fraud attempts in the Craven area

There have been several incidents in the Craven area recently involving Courier Fraud.

Courier fraud occurs when criminals contact you by phone and convince you to hand over money or your debit/credit card under false pretences.

Criminals may pretend to be the police and claim they need to move your money to help with an investigation 👮‍♀️🚨 This is a scam.

If you’re asked to share personal information or send money:

🛑 #TakeFive to stop and think.

📞 Hang up – the police will never ask you to move money for an investigation.

🛡️ If you think you’ve been scammed, contact your bank immediately and report it Action Fraud.
